FTR: formerly Citizens Communications Company, is a communications company providing services to rural areas and small- and medium-sized towns and cities. The Company offers local and long-distance telephone service, Internet access, wireless Internet access, digital phone and digital sky highway (DISH) satellite television. It operates in 24 states and provides services to approximately 3 million access lines and high-speed Internet subscribers. The Company offers its services under the Frontier name. It offers a range of voice, data and Internet services, and television that are available as bundled or package solutions and for some products, a la carte. As of December 31, 2008, it operated as an incumbent local exchange carrier (ILEC). The Company's services include access services, local services, long distance services, data and Internet services, directory services, television services and wireless services.
IWA: a provider of wireline local exchange telecommunications services to residential and business customers in rural Iowa, Minnesota and Missouri. The Company operates 294 telephone exchanges serving 423 communities as the incumbent local exchange carrier and provides wireline services in approximately 67% of these communities. In addition, Iowa Telecom provides service to residential and business customers throughout Iowa and Minnesota as a competitive local exchange carrier. In total, the Company provides services to approximately 242,100 access lines. In July 2009, the Company completed the acquisition of all the assets of Sherburne Tele Systems, Inc. WIN: a provider of telecommunications services in rural communities in the United States. The Company owns subsidiaries that provide local telephone, high-speed Internet, long distance, network access, and video services in 16 states. As of December 31, 2008, Windstream served more than three million communications customers in 16 states. Additionally, Windstream provides data services to more than 978,000 high-speed Internet customers. Windstream delivers one-stop shopping to customers with a range of communications products and services that include voice and related features, high-speed Internet, long distance, network access and video. The Company's operations consist of its wireline and product distribution segments. On November 21, 2008, Windstream completed the sale of its wireless business to AT&T Mobility II, LLC. |
