Many hotel chains, recognizing the critical vacation needs of members of the military, offer impressive discounts. Choice Hotels (http://www.choicehotels.com/ ), for example, gives a 10% discount on room rates plus 10% bonus points on all stays toward future lodging.
And Marriott (http://www.marriott.com/ ) offers 15% off while Days Inn (www.daysinn.com) has a 10% discount.
Now, the elegant Warwick International Hotel group (http://www.warwickhotels.com/ ) is giving a 25% discount for active military personnel on R&R thru 2010. It applies to up to 2 rooms at properties in Dallas, Denver, NYC, San Francisco and Seattle (good also for suites, except in Seattle). Rates vary based on the season but a luxury hotel stay can be just $55/night for a classic room ($67 in Seattle) or $99/suite, plus taxes; rates start at $140 in NYC. TIP: Mention code: WKmile.
Other Sources For Discounts

Although not a government site -- it's a business unit of Monster Worldwide (NYSE: MWW) -- it works closely with the government. And, don't overlook Amtrak (http://www.amtrak.com/ ) which has a 10% discount for active-duty personnel, spouses and dependents.
Then there's Greyhound (http://www.greyhound.com/ ) with its 10% discount for active duty and retired personnel and dependent family members.
