September 11, 2009 - Last week we wrote about Ford's new device that helps teenagers and those in their early 20s drive safely. It puts a cap on how fast the car will go and other clever things. (Click HERE to read.) This week we learned about a new offer from one of Ford's big competitors.
GM is offering a 60-day money back guarantee on its new cars and trucks. The ads will start appearing on Sunday. The actual offer starts on Monday and will run through November 30th. (If it's successful, it may be extended.)
In other words, you can try out a new (no used vehicles) 2009 or 2010 Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac or GMC and return it for a refund 31 to 60 days after it was purchased.
But don't plan on driving back and forth across the country. If the car is driven more than 4,000 miles it will not qualify for the refund.
And, if you take out a car loan to buy the vehicle, your payments must be right up to date.
MORE INFORMATION: As of Sunday, the company will post more details at: www.gm.com/guarantee.
