TGH: the holding company of a group of corporations, Textainer Group Holdings Limited and subsidiaries (the Company), involved in the purchase, management, leasing and resale of a fleet of marine cargo containers. The Company manages and provides administrative support to the affiliated and unaffiliated owners (the Owners) of the containers and structures and manages container leasing investment programs. The Company conducts its business activities in four main areas: container ownership, container management, container resale and military management. The Company operates in four reportable segments: Container ownership, Container management, Container resale and Military management.
GLS: an aviation company that acquires and leases commercial jet aircraft and other aviation assets. The Company's aircraft are leased under long-term contracts to airlines throughout the world. Genesis Lease was formed at the direction of GE Commercial Aviation Services Limited (GECAS) to acquire initial portfolio from affiliates of GE and to develop an independent aircraft leasing business. As of December 31, 2008, the weighted average age of the Company's aircraft was 6.6 years, and the weighted average remaining lease term on the aircraft was 4.5 years. The portfolio consists of 54 aircraft. At December 31, 2008, 50 of those aircraft are in operation with 34 airlines located in 19 countries. ELRC: engaged in the rental, lease and sale of electronic equipment, test and measurement (T&M) equipment and personal computer-related data products (DP) equipment. During the fiscal year ended May 31, 2008, (fiscal 2008) 78% of the rental and lease revenues were derived from T&M equipment. About 87% of the equipment portfolio is composed of general purpose T&M instruments purchased from manufacturers, such as Agilent Technologies and Tektronix. The remainder of the equipment portfolio comprises personal computers and servers, from manufacturers, including Dell, HP/Compaq, IBM and Toshiba. In the fiscal year 2008, rental revenues comprised 83% of rental and lease revenues. The Company's T&M equipment portfolio is rented or leased to Fortune 500 companies in the aerospace and defense, semiconductor, electronics and telecommunications industries. |
